'A statement of my reasons for wanting to study architecture at MSA

Architecture is the idea of belonging, the art of creating human experience, and I am determined to explore and be a part of its limitless possibilities. For me, The Manchester School of Architecture (MSA) is not just a place to study; it is a place to challenge ideas and to go above and beyond what architecture can be. The dual-institution structure between the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University combines research strength with creative energy, which I believe would give me access to world-class resources and provide me the opportunity for diverse, collaborative learning. Moreover, its strong focus on sustainability, technological innovation, and urban regeneration provides me the perfect environment to develop my skills, my creativity, and contribute to the future of the built environment. The university's location in the city of Manchester, with its magnificent blend of modernity and historical architecture rooted in the city's industrial past, off...

' My own review of a recent building that I have visited'

During a recent visit to York Minster Cathedral, I was deeply impacted. While visiting this masterpiece, I was fascinated by its towering stained-glass windows and detailed stone carvings. Every detail made me wonder about the incredible skill of the medieval builders who created it. What made it even more interesting to me was how the building balanced both warmth and awe, strengthening my belief that architecture can evoke powerful emotions ,something I want to bring into my own work.

‘A statement about my favorite architect'

Maya Lin is one architect who has greatly influenced me. Her start is a little unusual—her extraordinary ambition and determination to achieve something bigger despite her lack of professional experience at a young age. An example of this is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Her work inspires me, a dialogue about art, architecture, and the human experience, showing that architecture is not just about buildings but about emotions and storytelling. Her focus on sustainability is especially inspiring in today's world.

' A Work of architecture which I would like to experience in person’

One building I would love to experience in person is the Parliament Building in Budapest by Imre Steindl. Its neo-Gothic design, detailed with delicate carvings and soaring spires, reflects the unique combination of architectural styles. This building shows how architecture can reflect a country's history and culture. I admire how the building blends beauty with national pride while still being an active political space. It has always captivated me, and the way it connects with the river and the city around it makes it even more inspiring.
